Stock signals on Telegram: how it actually works
A stock-signal bot on Telegram runs a scan on a schedule and posts what clears a bar, so the shortlist lands in a chat instead of you opening a screener yourself. Useful, if you know what it's actually checking and what it isn't.
What the bot is actually doing
Under the hood it's a scheduled job: pull prices and fundamentals for a fixed universe of tickers, score each on a handful of factors (trend, momentum, volatility, quality), rank them, post the top of the list. It isn't watching every tick, it runs on an interval, so a signal is a snapshot at scan time, not a live feed.
What to check before trusting one
- Is the method shown? A score with no explanation of what feeds it is a black box. Look for the actual factors (e.g. RSI, MACD, moving averages), not just a number.
- Is it free to verify, not just free to join? Some bots gate the reasoning behind a paid tier and only give the ticker for free, that's an ad, not a signal.
- Does it disclose affiliate links? If every "buy here" link earns the bot a commission, weigh the incentive.
- Does it call itself advice? A legitimate scanner flags awareness, it doesn't tell you to buy.
How Peaky Radar does it
Peaky Radar scans ~600 stocks and the crypto market on a repeating schedule and posts to a free, public Telegram channel. Every score shows its ingredients, see the full breakdown of each signal type and the indicators behind the score. No paid tier gates the reasoning.
Educational market information, not financial advice. Signals are curated awareness, not recommendations. Markets carry risk of loss, do your own research.
